Awe - Patterns and Colour

This series is inspired by nature and the sublime. Research into patterns that appear in nature, such as cells, plants and animals has influenced my work. I abstract and simplify patterns, focusing on the feeling they create rather than a sense of realism. I oversaturate colours and play with how they react to each other. I always gravitate towards neon and bright colours, which are rarely seen in nature but always catch my eye. Considering moments such as, when colours are transformed by a sunset or a tree's leaves become bright red against a powder blue sky in autumn. The aim of this series is to replicate the feeling you get in nature when everything feels connected, as well as the feeling of sublime and awe you feel when standing in nature.
